What an outstanding season for the St. Mary’s girls tennis team!

Coming into the year, I knew the girls were the defending state champions, so I was excited to work with such a competitive group—and they certainly lived up to that expectation. But what stood out even more than their competitiveness was their incredible work ethic, teamwork, and support for one another throughout the season.

The girls delivered strong performances all year, battling through challenges, learning from every match, and continuing to improve. Their efforts culminated in another impressive achievement as they successfully defended their district title and were crowned District Champions once again.

St. Mary’s qualified five entries for the state tournament. In singles, Carys Chamberland captured the district championship, while teammate Adalie Ford finished second and Mia Cabalo took third. In doubles, Piper Ravassapor and Alison Olson earned a second-place district finish, while Natalie Huang and Ryligh Ho placed third. Their collective success secured the district title and an exciting trip to the state tournament.

At state, the girls competed with tremendous determination and heart. Carys Chamberland, a returning state singles player, improved on last year’s result by earning an impressive third-place finish. Adalie Ford advanced to the quarterfinals, where she faced the eventual state runner-up. First-time state qualifier Mia Cabalo won her opening-round match before taking on the eventual state champion in a hard-fought contest.

In doubles, Natalie Huang and Ryligh Ho battled through severe allergies and fought their way to the consolation semifinals, where they fell to fellow teammates Piper Ravassapor and Alison Olson. Piper and Alison went on to win the consolation finals, capping off a fantastic tournament. Through their hard work, teamwork, and dedication, the St. Mary’s girls secured a third-place team finish at the state tournament.

While every player on this team competed with heart and left everything they had on the court, the most memorable part of the season was the joy they shared off the court—the smiles, laughter, and friendships that made this group so special.

Congratulations to all of these athletes on an incredible season. We can’t wait to see what next year brings!
