State Doubles Champions – Ben & Henry Smith
In a thrilling Championship Saturday, Ben and Henry Smith captured the 2025 Oregon Boys Doubles State Title with grit, precision, and heart. Their semi-final and final matches both went to three sets, with the championship match hanging in the balance deep into the final frame. Tied at 4-4 in the third set, Henry made a momentum-shifting play—chasing down a Marist shot and lofting a lob that resulted in a misfire. That play sparked the Smiths’ final surge.
Perhaps the most memorable moment came on championship point, when Ben showed extraordinary sportsmanship by self-reporting a ball that grazed his head, costing them the point. Unfazed, Ben immediately rebounded to serve out the match with clutch precision. True champions in both skill and character.
